⭑  ࣭ ˖๋ ݁ 𖥔.about me.𖥔 ݁ ˖๋ ࣭ ⭑

hii i’m nabi, but some also call me nvbi.

i was born in 1999 (i’m a taurus) in new york, usa and i am a writer, researcher, and communications strategist based between new york city and amsterdam.

i hold a bachelor of science in international fashion business management with minors in international politics and english from the fashion institute of technology as well as a master of arts in critical fashion practices from artez university of the arts in the netherlands.

my work is heavily influenced by my background in fashion, the humanities, and social sciences. i oscilate between academia and industry through my writing and communications practice, where i creates captivating narratives to frame the work of creatives in a witty, engaging, and timely manner.

you can find me within the industries of fashion, design, and culture, where i’ve partnered with designers and cultural institutions across north america, europe, and oceania. a few notable clients and collaborators include: lighting design practice, volker haug studio (melbourne, aus); product designer kiki goti (brooklyn, usa); and cultural organization japan society (new york, usa).

aside from working with emerging creatives, my writing focuses on the intersections of fashion, design, and contemporary media and its impact on identity within the postmodern context. my texts challenge the notion that identity is fixed, and explores how fashion and the built environment can act as tools to promote the fluidity and intersectionality of identity.

when i’m not feeding the machine that is late-stage capitalism, you’ll probably find me doomscrolling, shitposting on main, and yearning for mcgriddles.

i am currently open for writing comissions!
